Help Socks Get Some Dough

So Ghettosocks has this new profile at OurStage.com, yet another social media site for artists and fans. One of the interesting aspects of this particular site, is the monthly contest they hold in which you, the fan, can vote for your favorite artist and help them win big money. Like $5000 big money.

You can help Socks win by going to OurStage.com and voting for his contest entries (see below). Of course, you’ll have to join the site, but hey it’s a for a good cause. Namely, helping Socks to fund his upcoming projects. So why not help a poor rapper out?

As the banners indicate, when you first visit OurStage.com you will have to sign up, then you’ll need to activate your account by clicking on the link in the registration confirmation email you will receive from OurStage after signing up. So make sure you use your real email address! Next, come back to this page and click on the banners below. You will be taken to a page where you can listen to the song, rate it by clicking on the on one, two or three thumbs up icons in the top right. Yo can also click the heart icon to add it to your favorites.

In order judge songs for the contests, you must click on the “Judge” tab and select the category you wish to judge. Ghettosocks songs are under “Hip Hop”, “Rap”, and “Alternative Hip Hop”. So, here’s the catch. You can’t just vote for Ghettosocks outright, you must go through rounds of judging whereby you listen to at least 15 seconds of a song and vote for the one you like better (more info here). This can take a lot of time before you encounter a Ghettosocks track. The contest closes August 22, and there is a new contest each month, so if you have the time and the inclination, it would be much appreciated.
